Cold weather family sessions have a quieter, more peaceful feel. Fewer crowds, softer light, and kiddos naturally leaning into their parents for warmth—which creates the sweetest, most natural moments. At Retzer Nature Center, the muted tones of late fall paired beautifully with this family’s connection, even with gray skies and mist rolling in.

Jake and Catherine’s wedding day was one of those celebrations that felt both deeply meaningful and effortlessly beautiful from start to finish. Their day combined everything I love most as a photographer: a heartfelt Church Wedding, stunning end-of-summer florals at a Boerner Botanical Gardens Wedding, and a couple who truly felt like friends by the time their wedding day arrived.

Some wedding days feel like a fairytale from the moment you arrive—and Will and Sarah’s Castle Vineyard Wedding was exactly that. Tucked just down the road from Lake Michigan, Castle Vineyard feels like a hidden escape to Europe without ever leaving Wisconsin. As a Wisconsin Wedding Photographer, stepping onto this property is always a pinch-me moment, and this day was no exception.

If you’re planning Milwaukee family photos and your child is three years old, let me gently reassure you right now: it’s okay if things feel chaotic. In fact, I expect it—and I welcome it. As a Milwaukee family photographer, I work with toddlers all of the time! Family sessions with a three-year-old are rarely calm. They are full of movement, laughter, stubborn opinions, bursts of energy, and sometimes a meltdown or two. But they are also full of real connection. And that’s what matters most.
