Some mornings feel extra magical, and Jake’s Retzer Nature Center Senior Session was one of them. We met on a bright, sunny morning at Retzer Nature Center, just outside of Waukesha, Wisconsin, the day before he started his first day of senior year in high school. There’s something special about capturing a senior on the last day of summer vacation—full of anticipation, energy, and hope for what’s ahead—and Jake’s session perfectly reflected that feeling. From the very start of our session, it was clear that Jake is an incredible young man. We talked about his ambitions not only for the upcoming school year, but for his life beyond high school. Hearing his plans and the thoughtful way he’s preparing for the future was inspiring. He shared how he’s already juggling two jobs to save money for college, showing a level of dedication and responsibility that is rare in a high school senior. One of his jobs is even at The Legend at Brandybrook, one of my favorite wedding venues to photograph! It’s always amazing to see young people contributing to the community while also working toward their own goals.
