Catelyn and Devon really know how to throw a party. Seriously! These two lovebirds are both talented musicians and they brought along all of their friends to celebrate their union! It was quite a day…and night! It was an honor to photograph their Summer wedding day at the Bowery.
The Bowery is an incredible wedding venue and event space located outside of Milwaukee, Wisconsin in Lake Country. There are two getting ready spaces, for the ladies and the gentlemen and at this particular wedding there was also a sunflower field for sunset portraits! Talk about a wedding photographer’s dreams coming true. You are also able to hold your ceremony indoors, which is a great option considering Wisconsin weathers track record.
The morning started off quiet and slow, giving me plenty of time as a photographer to take detail pictures while the bride and groom were getting ready! The weather was absolutely perfect on this mid August day. You know a bride is close with her soon to be husband’s friends when she wanted to do a groomsmen first look! That was such a special moment for Catelyn and for the members of the Groom’s crew! Their faces were absolutely priceless.
Did I mention that the groom is the lead vocalist in a band? Well, he is! And his fellow Tigera band members stood by his side as he married the love of his life. If you are ever in the Milwaukee area and they are playing, you need to check them out! I have been listening to their music on Spotify ever since photographing this wedding and I love it!
Catelyn and Devon’s engagement photoshoot was almost a year before their wedding day, but they did not skip a beat! They were naturals in front of the camera for their bride and groom portraits. Their infectious laughter and giggles were such a joy to capture. Their happiness was radiating off of them throughout the entire day, but during bride and groom portraits it was almost tangible. Catelyn and Devon had the largest smiles plastered on their faces throughout the night, they must have practice keeping those facial muscles flexed from their many concerts. I was impressed!
Way back at their contract signing, Catelyn had told me that one of the big reasons they had chosen the Bowery as their venue was because she wanted sunset photos in the sunflower field. This made me a little nervous as a photographer, I am not going to lie! Everyone wants an epic sunset on their wedding day, but honestly it does not happen for most weddings in Wisconsin. However, Catelyn got her wish! We caught the sunset light and got some epic golden sunset portraits! I was so happy to deliver Catelyn’s vision for her sunflower sunset portraits. Please enjoy this joyous August wedding at the Bowery!
