Andrew’s and Alyssa’s stunning Halloween Themed wedding day at the Castle Vineyard outside of Milwaukee, Wisconsin did not go quite as planned. And I could not be happier about it! Let me explain. When they put their wedding day on Halloween, they expected Fall colors and changing leaves to be the background of their wedding photos. However, Mother Nature had another plan! Their wedding day came and was freezing with a Wisconsin weather twist. SNOW! The snow made the perfect backdrop for Alyssa and Andrew’s outdoor portraits and I am in love with how their gallery turned out.

Andrew and Alyssa first contacted me to photograph their wedding a few weeks before their date. They needed a last minute wedding photographer and they loved my work. Andrew and Alyssa live in the Chicagoland area and had just found an opening at the Castle Vineyard. They fell in love with the Castle Vineyard as their wedding venue. And who could blame them? It is a slice of European countryside smack dab in the middle of Wisconsin! I had photographed at the Castle Vineyard previously and they adored the photos I took. We quickly talked through the logistics and they booked me as their wedding photographer on the spot. Then we all waited impatiently for their wedding day to arrive!

As their day approached, I kept an eye on the weather. I saw the possibility of snow. But that is not uncommon for Fall in Wisconsin! I did not think much of it until it was almost time for me to leave. I looked at the weather and was worried that I may not be able to make it to the wedding after all. I vowed to do my best to get to the Castle Vineyard to capture Alyssa and Andrew’s wedding day. As I started the drive, it became apparent that it was indeed going to snow. And it DID. And it was not regular snow, it was Thunder/Lightning snow! I could not believe my eyes!

I made it to the Castle Vineyard a few minutes before the ceremony was supposed to start. The typical hour drive took me two and a half hours with the road conditions. But that is where this story takes the absolute best turn. It snowed through the ceremony, then the sun came out and gave this sweet couple the most beautiful sunset on their wedding day! Andrew and Alyssa embodied Morticia and Gomez Addams to a tee and I loved every moment I captured from this amazing wedding day. Enjoy this Halloween Themed wedding at the Castle Vineyard!
