Getting the chance to photograph a couple’s anniversary portrait session in field of peony flowers was surreal. Additionally this photoshoot felt like photographing a romance movie! The peonies were beautiful and their fragrance was sweet. I could definitely see myself photographing in this peony field more in the future.

Marta first reached out to me wanting anniversary portraits with her husband, Mateusz, in the winter of 2023. She really wanted a stunning background for their portraits then mentioned that she really loved flowers. After researching a few different parks with an abundance of flowers, we finally decided to meet at Ovan’s Peony Farm. Ovan’s Peony Farm is located just outside of Madison, Wisconsin. It offers an absolutely stunning background for any type of portrait photography session. Or it is a great place if you just want to enjoy looking at the flowers and being out in nature! They hold a “Picnic in the Peonies” event every year for everyone to experience the flowers at peak.

Mateusz and Marta were celebrating their 3rd year wedding anniversary in style. I loved Marta’s flower crown and lace gloves! They really wanted to show off their dance moves throughout the session. They take dance lessons together and enjoy the activity on date nights out. Can you spot them waltzing throughout this blog post? During their session they also shared a glimpse into their love story with me. I am always honored when couple’s share their love during their couple’s portrait sessions. They met in collage during the pandemic and Marta is actually from a small country in Europe! For them, it was love at first sight and they married during the shut down. Their story is proof that love will always find a way! Even during a worldwide pandemic, they found each other and held on tight! Enjoy this romantic peony farm anniversary portrait session.
