Garett and Olivia’s Shully’s Cuisine Wedding was nothing short of magical. Set just outside of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, their European floral garden–inspired wedding day was filled with joy, elegance, and the kind of love that shines no matter what the weather decides to do. And trust me—Wisconsin weather definitely made itself known that day.
Despite steady rain for much of their June wedding, Garett and Olivia never let it dampen their spirits. From start to finish, their happiness was contagious, and their celebration at Shully’s Cuisine and Events was a beautiful reminder that the heart of a wedding day isn’t the forecast—it’s the people and the love being celebrated.
As a Milwaukee wedding photographer, days like this are a perfect example of why preparation, flexibility, and trust matter so much.
Shully’s Cuisine and Events is a stunning wedding venue located just outside of Milwaukee, offering a refined yet welcoming atmosphere that works beautifully for both indoor and outdoor celebrations. One of the standout features of a Shully’s Cuisine Wedding is the gorgeous white tent on the property, which provides an elegant outdoor ceremony option—while still offering protection from unpredictable weather.
And let me tell you: having a solid backup plan is everything.
June in Wisconsin can be beautiful, but it can also be very wet. This past June proved that point in a big way—three out of my four weddings that month experienced rain for most (if not all) of the day. That’s why I always encourage couples to choose venues like Shully’s that are prepared for anything. Garett and Olivia’s thoughtful planning meant that even with rain pouring down, the day flowed seamlessly.
One of the most special parts of this wedding? Olivia wasn’t just the bride—she’s also a wedding coordinator at Shully’s Cuisine and Events herself. That meant she understood every moving part of the day, from timelines to logistics to backup plans.
And yet, even with all that knowledge, Olivia approached her wedding day with such grace and calm. She was an absolute joy to work with—beautiful inside and out—and handled every little hiccup like a true professional. Because let’s be real: no matter how perfectly you plan, something always pops up. Olivia navigated it all with ease and a smile.
The Shully’s staff was especially excited to be serving one of their own, and you could feel that extra layer of love and care throughout the entire day. It was incredibly touching to witness a team come together to celebrate someone they work alongside every day.
Although the rain lingered for much of the wedding day, it only added to the romance. Soft light filtered through the clouds, florals felt lush and vibrant, and the entire atmosphere leaned into that European garden feel Olivia envisioned.
And then—like magic—the rain paused.
During dinner, we snuck outside for bride and groom portraits, and those moments were absolutely worth the wait. Garett and Olivia soaked in a few quiet minutes together, laughing, holding hands, and finally stepping outside as husband and wife. Those portraits felt intimate and calm—a little pause in the celebration before the night truly began.
Once the celebration kicked into full gear, Garett and Olivia danced the night away surrounded by their closest friends and family. The energy in the room was incredible. You could feel how deeply loved and supported they are, and how much joy filled the space.
Rain or shine, this Shully’s Cuisine Wedding was overflowing with emotion, laughter, and connection. It was one of those days where everything just felt right—because the focus was exactly where it should be.
As a Milwaukee wedding photographer, it’s an honor to document wedding days like this—days that prove love is bigger than timelines, weather forecasts, or unexpected changes. Garett and Olivia trusted the process, leaned into the moment, and celebrated wholeheartedly.
Their European floral garden–inspired wedding at Shully’s Cuisine and Events was elegant, joyful, and deeply meaningful. From the thoughtful planning to the heartfelt celebration, this day will stand out for a long time to come.
